Fröbergs Mahogany Motorboat

Fröbergs Mahogany Motorboat

Beautiful forecastle from Sweden. Designed by Dr Harald Kjerrulf in 1926 and built by the FRÖBERG boatyard in LIDINGÖ, SWEDEN. Karl Fröberg was known as one of Sweden's best boat builders at the time, and this boat, number 43, was the first boat he built in 1926. Today she is therefore a special rarity - unique in her combination of flexible use, space, documented history and timeless elegance.

The boat was intended as a coastal cruiser and therefore has cosy, comfortable accommodation with a large cockpit and sufficient speed to achieve reasonable crossing times. Originally equipped with 2 masts and auxiliary sails, she was converted into a pure motorboat as early as 1974. The layout with a large centre cockpit, protected by a small windscreen, with an aft deck and the large foredeck offers an exceptionally practical layout with plenty of space for up to 6 people
The boat is in excellent condition. The hull, planked with varnished Honduras mahogany, is still completely original - without epoxy or coating. The companionway has a sliding hatch with a pair of high doors in varnished mahogany. The aft deck is covered with varnished planks, has a centre access hatch to the companionway and is fitted with skirting boards all round. All the wooden elements are made from the same original mahogany and are in very good condition.
A stunning boat and a real eye-catcher with a detailed history and full documentation. Attention on the water and interesting conversations in the harbour are guaranteed.

The current owners would like to pass the boat on to new hands for reasons of age - your chance for a rare opportunity...
